The
National Parks Administration (APN) and the Defense Ministry submitted
a new category of conservation in Argentina. This is the "military
nature reserves", ie places allocated to the Armed Forces who have
areas of interest for conservation and to be managed jointly by both
jurisdictions, says a report published by the newspaper La Nacion of
Buenos Aires with Laura Rocha firm.
So
far, military created three nature reserves: Punta Buenos Aires,
Chubut, Puerto Peninsula, Misiones, and Mar Chiquita Shooting Range in
the province of Buenos Aires.
"This
will add strategic points with high conservation value of protecting
our heritage," said Hector Espina, president of the NPC.
