Fourteen thousand hunters will enjoy today from the midseason, open until September 7
Everything is already prepared. About 14,000 guns from Rioja may participate today in the opening day of the midseason which runs until 7 September. In La Rioja there are currently 178 in the hunting grounds (sports and private) including 112 for open practice today in the midseason and another 66 will not open, some by the scarcity of quail. The surface cazable in La Rioja is 372,939 hectares.

The Director of Environment of La Rioja, Miguel Urbiola, highlighted the "good prospects for quail, primarily in Rioja Alta. He explained that the rains "have created new grass in cereal areas and, together with the moisture, habitat conditions for quail. By contrast, he said Urbiola, in the Rioja Baja, "by weather conditions, things are different and there are no plans to be an important season for quail. The working period for the practice of the midseason are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays or autonomy. The times allowed for hunting practice range from one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset.

Within these periods and days allowed, the owners of hunting grounds shall regulate the exercise of this type of game in terms of the existence of sufficient and appropriate areas of authorized species abundance, especially quail. In addition to quail, cazables species are common dove, pigeon, dove, magpie, jackdaw, carrion crow, starling, and fox.
