It was a guided day out on Toccoa River the other day fly fishing in the North Georgia. In spite of the adverse generation of lists of RJF guide, Brad and Wayne Julian Byrd, and friend John slid drift boat in the afternoon for a swim.

Day started with a couple of fish to dry, but quickly turned into a streamer and nymphing days at the Toccoa River. The fishing report was good and the guides got into quite a few fish, including this nice 20 inch rainbow trout at the end of the float. This was taken to groove, not produced recently, and it was a Welcome Site to see that big fish like this one, had become, even in prime fish habitat. Looks like trout begin to move up high riffles to take on new bugs and active nymphs.

This means that there is a hatch should begin to increase and the trout will start looking more to the surface. warm weather this week is going to do wonders for the fishing and bug activity.
