As for the organization on the Ponoi River is, dare we say, perfect. Because everything is built on the banks of the Ponoi that fishermen have to worry about anything, except fishing. What in the daily results in helicopters flying permanently and without delay; stewardship by which not only follows but wonders in terms of meal preparation, organization and equipment (tents, boats) worthy of the best camps.

And the results of fishing you say? When studying the statistics of the years 2000 to 2005 it appears that the average catch for each season of 9716 salmon, an average of 32 salmon per rod for six days fishing: nice average truth (!) That no other river of the Kola Peninsula can claim to achieve.

But a good organization, good fishing, this is not all, but also that, over the years, the quality of fishing remains and this can not be obtained in Russia more than elsewhere, that monitoring and controlling the rivers for sport fishing.

It can therefore be considered without fear or organization failing or unsuccessful fishing a stay on the banks of the Ponoï, and we hope that in 2007 you will participate in one they organize in Russia.

Fishing
Only fly fishing is allowed on the river Ponoï and other important detail: all fish caught must be released ( "catch and release" only).

The average weight of salmon caught on Ponoï is 9 to 10 pounds, but almost every week are out of the water several fish over 20 pounds.

When the fishing technique, it is traditional because it uses mostly silk floating, intermediate or sink-tip cane in one hand silk from 7 to 10, or cane with both hands for those accustomed to such material.

Also note that the Ponoï is an extraordinary river to fishing for salmon dry fly, some stay for weeks to take 50% of salmon "dry".

Fishing Season
It runs from early June until early October and it is now recognized as the largest salmon runs in place during the months of June and July, while the bigger fish arrive in the Ponoï in August and September at a second approach, no less important quantitatively.
