In its adornment, Mindemoya Lake is truly unique for it sports a large
hilly island, Treasure Island, just slightly south of its centre.

Settled in the 1870s, and named after a town in Scotland, Meldrum Bay
developed as a fishing and lumbering centre. Once the village was home
to a busy commercial fishing fleet, and Great Lakes steamers tied up at
the docks.

ammenities are close to make stop-over comfortable and friendly.
West Bay First Nation has recently undergone a name change to
M'Chigeeng (pronounced shih-geeng), which means "village enclosed by
stepped cliffs".
