Free parts of the land area of the state and private lands

Wildlife Refuges
In a wildlife refuge, the conditions for use of resources are set to conserve wildlife habitat or a species. In such areas, restrictions may apply trapping.
In the wildlife refuge of Deux-Montagnes (UGAF 24) and in the wildlife refuge to Îlet-aux-Alouettes (UGAF 41), trapping is prohibited.
In the wildlife refuge of Grand Island (UGAF 25), it is prohibited from April 1 to July 31, to engage in trapping.
In the wildlife refuge of Pointe-du-Lac (UGAF 37), it is prohibited from 25 September to 26 December, to access, movement or engage in any activity.
In the wildlife refuge of Battures de Saint-Fulgence (UGAF 52), a piégeur can move anywhere during trapping, to reach their places of trapping or to recover the trapped animals.
In the wildlife refuge on the Island Laval (UGAF 55), trapping is allowed in monitoring access to the territory.
In the wildlife refuge of the Pointe de l'Est (UGAF 69), trapping is allowed in monitoring access and movement in the territory.
In the wildlife refuge of the Rivière des Mille-Iles (UGAF 24 and 86), a person who can access trap and move anywhere.

Nature Reserves
The nature reserve is a private property protected through a conservation agreement between an owner and the Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks of Quebec. Its recognition is to ensure the maintenance of natural features and supports the conservation of this property. It is framed by the provisions of the Law on the conservation of natural heritage.
In a nature reserve, the sampling wildlife may be more restrictive than those provided by provincial regulations. Migratory Bird Sanctuary and National Wildlife

Reservations hunting and fishing
These reserves have a regulation, which differs from a reservation to another. Some of them require a permit to operate or to practice any activity, while others prohibit the possession of weapons or gear hunting within their boundaries. Beaver reserves and territories in the James Bay, North and Northeastern Quebec
These territories are, in large part, Northern Quebec north of the 49th parallel and some parts of the regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Outaouais, Haute-Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-Saint John and the North Shore. In UGAF 6, 7, 29, 31, 32, 50 and 56 (reservations beaver) and in the territories of James Bay, northern and north-eastern Quebec (UGAF 87 to 96), trapping is reserved exclusively for Indians and Inuit. Where trapping is prohibited
It is prohibited to capture a national park in the provincial or federal, a forest or an ecological reserve and in the UGAF 67. Trapping is also banned on the territory of trapping ban following: Lac-la-Blanche (UGAF 8), Laurentides (Center tourist and educational Laurentides Saint-Faustin) (UGAF 23), Bois-de-Belle - River (municipality of Mirabel) (UGAF 24), massif de la Petite-Rivière-Saint-François (UGAF 40), Palisades (UGAF 41), Center for Studies and Research Manicouagan (UGAF 57), the Ecological Reserve Matamec (UGAF 61), Charles B. Banville (UGAF 76), Drummondville (located in Saint-Majorique and Drummondville) (UGAF 82) and September 20 to December 26 in a part of the Beauharnois Canal and the land the border (UGAF 84). General Terms:
Land trapping are parcels of land located in zecs in wildlife reserves and the land area of the state designated for this purpose (see Rules of certain territories
The exploitation of land trapping is conditional on obtaining a lease of exclusive rights to capture a period of nine years. The lease sets the terms of the agreement between the Ministry and the tenant regarding the use of fur on the ground. The exclusive rights granted to the trapping field are subject to the conditions of the lease.
In addition to the professional trapping permit, the holder of a piégeur field trapping must pay a fee annually between September 1 and November 1. In 2008, this law is $ 1.56 per km 2 of land granted (before taxes). The costs will be less than $ 15.79 for a field.
To trap on a trap, it must have a lease of exclusive rights to capture the land. Any other person may also be trapped if it has a document certifying trap obtained permission of the owner of the lease. Buildings and constructions
The holder of a lease of exclusive rights trapping may erect buildings for the practice of his activity. However, it must meet the standards and conditions established by regulation. The holder of a field can get this information to the office of the Department the region where his land.
If he loses or abandons its right to capture a piégeur needs of its buildings for the new tenant as planned. The new tenant will not trapped on the ground until it has acquired these buildings. Assignment of rights and obligations
The owner of land to lease exclusive trapping rights may, at his written request (see Form transfer or exchange of land trapping (PDF, 20 KB) no later than August 1 this year, be approved by the ministry to transfer all of its rights and obligations to a certificate holder of piégeur it complies with the conditions set by regulation, including a requirement for the owner of the land under lease to have trapped in this area during the year preceding the transfer. For these conditions, please contact the regional office of the region where the field trapping.
Two owners of land to lease exclusive trapping rights may, upon their written request (see Form transfer or exchange of land trapping (PDF, 20 KB) no later than August 1 this year, be authorized by the Ministry to exchange their rights and obligations of the lease, if they meet the conditions set by regulation, including a requirement for every owner of land under lease, have caught on his land trapping during the transfer. For these conditions, please contact the regional office of the region where the land trapping (see page 46). Costs apply for such transfers.
Bond trading
The licensed trapping professional who holds a lease of exclusive rights to capture (or field trapping outfitter) must annually during the period of validity of his license deal with a fur trader, a finisher or a house 'auction at least fifteen fur not primed by years from at least five species of fur animals trapped in the territory described in his lease.
Where the amount of land trapping described in the lease is less than or equal to 20 km 2, the number of fur not primed to be compromised is reduced to ten. The fur must come from at least three species of fur animals trapped in the territory described in his lease.
Fur animals caught outside the territory described in the lease or other land trapping should not be included in this calculation.

Transaction fur:
Any holder of a permit for trapping fur trading hunted or trapped and not primed with a fur trader, a finisher or a house auction must report the number of the UGAF from which traded furs and sign the register provided for that purpose.
Permits and conditions
Piégeur a resident is not required to be licensed traders or finisher fur or prepare to sell the product of its own trap. However, any person who wishes to sell the fur primed not from an animal hunted or trapped, making the trade, prepare or serve as intermediary for the sale or trade of such fur with some advantage must obtain a permit for this purpose and meet other requirements established by regulation. Note that it is not necessary to hold a license to buy fur primed not from an animal hunted or trapped if we did not trade.
Exporting fur
A piégeur personally can not export raw furs outside Quebec. Only the holder of a trader or an intermediary for the sale or trade of fur or permit finisher fur, after having paid the fee and obtained an export department, export fur on the outside of Quebec.
In addition, some fur covered by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). While these species are not endangered in Quebec, they are related to others who are regarded as such elsewhere in the world. Target species are included in the lists annexed to the Convention. In Quebec, six fur animals are part of these lists, including: wolves, river otter, the Canada lynx, the bobcat, the polar bear and black bear.
These animals, their parts, derivatives and other products made from these species exported from Canada, must be accompanied by a CITES export permit for the entry into or allowed in the importing country.

General Rules (Black Bear: peculiarities)
It is forbidden to make a nutrient as bait to trap black bears, according to UGAF during the periods mentioned in the following table: UGAF PROHIBITED PERIOD
1 to 5, 7 to 49, 51 to 55 and 68 to 86 1 July to 31 August
6, 50 and 56 to 66 1 July to 15 August
It is allowed to capture, in a year for the licensed professional trapping:
two bears in black all UGAF 1 to 7, 11 to 15, 17, 20, 21, 27 to 32, 38, 39, 42, 43, 45, 47 to 51, 53, 54, 56, 59 to 66 , 73 to 79 and 82 to 86;
Three Bears in black all UGAF 16, 80 and 81;
four black bears in all UGAF 8, 9, 10, 18, 19, 22 to 26, 33 to 37, 40, 41, 44, 46, 52, 55, 57, 58, 70, 71 and 72.
In UGAF where the limit annual prize is three or four black bears, the licensed professional trapping should contact the regional office concerned of the Department for the additional transportation coupons.
The licensed professional trapping can capture more than four years by black bears.
A person who has obtained permission to trap on land lease where only exclusive trapping rights were granted (field trapping) may benefit from the catch limits that were not affected by the holder of the lease . The black bears are captured regarded as bears captured by the holder of the lease.
When captures a black bear, a licensed professional trapping must, before moving it, detach his license trapping coupon transport and attach it to the animal.
If the black bear was captured on a lease of exclusive rights to capture, this coupon must come from the professional trapping permit the holder of the lease or other licensed professional trapping has been authorized by the holder of the lease, to trap.
The licensed professional trapping capture a black bear shall, within 15 days of leaving the place of capture, submit its own license and the carcass or the fur of the animal and to register your pet with a person, company or association authorized by the Ministry, and then allow punching Coupon transport. In a spirit of cooperation to benefit the management of black bears, all trappers are encouraged to provide, at the time of registration, the two upper premolars (see diagram), then to indicate the date and location the capture, the sex of the animal and the presence or absence of milk.
The premolars are located immediately behind the canines. It is easy to extract as follows:
1/ identify the tooth of the gums with a sharp knife;
2/ pushing the edge of the knife in the gums between the canine and premolar, and a slight twist, remove the tooth's position;
3/ do not boil or clean your teeth.
The operation is the same for both premolars. To avoid mixing of an animal to another place, for each black bear captured, two teeth and required in a single envelope. In older animals, the premolars are not always apparent.
