Minister Guy Chevrette, owner of Wildlife and Parks, told the coordination of the Great National Day of Fishing at the Fondation de la faune du Québec (FFQ). The Foundation will ensure success in collaboration with the Société de la faune et des parcs du Québec and various partners in the region of this Crown corporation: the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec, the federation of outfitters in Quebec, the Fédération québécoise de la faune, la Fédération québécoise des gestionnaires de ZEC, the Fédération québécoise pour le saumon atlantique, Conservation aquatic Québec and the Société d'animation de la Promenade Bellerive Montreal. These partners, assisted by local groups affiliated offiront interested citizens many educational activities and entertainment in more than a hundred places in the Great Feast.
For Minister Chevrette, "fishermen practice an activity whose economic impact is essential to the vitality of various regions of Quebec. In addition, fishermen are ardent defenders of the natural environment of Quebec and many are involved in hundreds of organizations that ensure the protection or enhancement of our wildlife resources."
In May, the Fondation de la faune du Québec released the schedule of activities for July 8 and 9. It indicates where the festivities would take place. A map of 218 public access to fishing, on the outskirts of Montreal, would be offered to citizens. Other maps showing public access similar to other regions, will be offered to interested citizens.
